Serving suggestions
This wonderfully refreshing white makes a delicious glass to sip on its own. It's a classic match with oysters, and would be great with other seafood dishes such as spaghetti a la vongole.

Description
Sauvignon Blanc is one of the world's best loved grapes and one of the most recognisable - it's grassy, herby aromas leap from the glass, followed by exuberant gooseberry and citrus fruit flavours. Traditionally the best examples came from Bordeaux and the Loire, then famously New Zealand began producing some super examples. Now it is the turn of Chile. The Scotsman wrote "In just 5 years the quality of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc has improved incredibly, making some of their wines viable alternatives to French Loire or Kiwi Malborough Sauvignons."

This is a fabulous, fresh Sauvignon Blanc from Tarapacá - one of the most beautiful estates in Chile. Its old-style colonial house lies nestled amongst its vines in the Maipo Valley, bordered on one side by the mountains and the other by the winding river. The Gran Tarapacá label is reserved for the estate's flagship wines, made from the best grapes available - in this case from the Casablanca region in the far north of the country. According to The Guardian, this super-trendy region is "acquiring status as one of the 'in' regions, such as Marlborough in New Zealand".

Tarapacá Estate's Parker-rated winemaker Cristian Molina fermented the grapes for this wine slowly at a cool temperature to bring out the natural aromatic qualities and zingy greenage and gooseberry flavours of the grape.
